| During the 1970's two distinct
archeological studies were conducted in or near the Flatts. One
focused on the area immediately surrounding the Schuyler family home and
included the discovery of the first Dutch Colonial habitation built by
Arent Van Curler. The other centered on the area immediately south
of the farm. It focused on the evidence of centuries of Native American
habitation at the site. |
