Follow the order and punctuation of the examples exactly.

It is important to acknowledge using an idea or a quote found during the research process. 

If you include the idea or quote in your final paper you must cite your source using 

parenthetical citation.  When using parenthetical citation be sure to point to a specific

source listed in the works cited and identify the location of the borrowed information as

clearly as possible.

 

Sample:

"In the time of the Indians, two creeks ran to the Hudson and East Rivers from Collect 

Pond and a marsh on Canal Street" (Boyle 36).

 

Always put the first item of the bibliography (usually the author's last name), a space 

and then the page number in parenthesis followed by the period.
