Restoring data

It's a good idea to 'practice' restoring data to a different location so that you feel comfortable with the process before you need it (and are under pressure!)

Restoring your data:
  1. Logon to the server you wish to backup (with Administrator privileges). The ARCserve .NLM--ARCserve Server--should be running on your server.
  2. Start ARCserve Manager on your PC. From the Quick Access menu (F2) choose Restore.
  3. Make sure you have the correct server displayed
  4. Click on the Source Tab
  1. Click on the blue arrows to reveal the data under the Novell Servers section. Click in the Green box to select the volumes or folders you want to restore
  2. Next click on the Version History tab at the right and select the backup session that you want to restore from.

If you aren't sure which tape you need, go to Device Management and check the serial numbers of the tapes in the drive.
