Backing up data

Developing a successful backup strategy starts with you and not your backup drive.

If you don't do regular backups, you won't have any data to restore!

Backing up your data:
  1. Logon to the server you wish to backup (with Administrator privileges). The ARCserve .NLM--ARCserve Server--should be running on your server.
  2. Start ARCserve Manager on your PC. From the Quick Access menu (F2) choose Backup.
  3. Make sure you have the correct server displayed
  4. Click on the Source Tab
  1. Click on the blue arrows on the Source tab list to reveal the data under the Novell Servers section. Click in the Green box to select the server(s) and/or volumes you want to back-up
  2. Click on the Method tab to continue….

Don't forget to backup your NDS tree data under NetWare Directory Services too!
